UI/UX Designer
Part-time, one-month contract. Help shape a tool for the people on the front lines of conservation, built with TRAFFIC to counter wildlife crime.
Biolytica is partnering with TRAFFIC, the leading global organization working on the trade in wild animals and plants, on a project to help counter wildlife crime. We're looking for a UI/UX designer to shape the experience of a tool built for the people on the front lines of conservation.
This is a chance to put design skills toward protecting wildlife, and to do it alongside the practitioners who will actually use what you create.
- Design intuitive, accessible user interfaces and end-to-end user experiences for the project's digital tools.
- Translate user needs and field realities into wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI.
- Work directly with conservation practitioners to ground your designs in how the work really happens, including travel to the field to observe, interview, and test with users as part of the design process.
- Collaborate closely with the Biolytica team and project stakeholders, iterating quickly on feedback.
- Deliver clean, developer-ready design assets and documentation within the engagement timeline.
- Demonstrated experience in UI/UX design, with a portfolio that shows your process from research to final interface.
- Strong command of standard design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
- A user-centered approach and comfort conducting research and usability testing directly with users.
- Ability to work independently and deliver within a focused, short timeline.
- A genuine passion for conservation and wildlife protection. You care about the mission, not just the pixels.
- Willingness and availability to travel for field work during the engagement.
