Back-End Engineer

Biolytica is looking for a back-end engineer to design and build the services and data layer behind a focused web project. This is a role for someone who writes robust, well-architected systems and cares about correctness, security, and performance under real-world load.

• Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and data models that power the application.
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable server-side code.
• Own data integrity, security, authentication and authorization, and performance.
• Collaborate closely with front-end engineering to define clear, reliable API contracts.
• Deliver production-ready, well-documented work within a focused project timeline.

• Strong, demonstrable back-end experience with a track record of shipping reliable production systems.
• Proficiency in at least one major server-side language/runtime (e.g. Node.js, Python, Go, or Java).
• Solid database skills across relational and/or NoSQL stores, including schema design and query optimization.
• Strong understanding of API design (REST/GraphQL), authentication, and security best practices.
• Familiarity with testing, CI/CD, and cloud deployment (e.g. AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results on a short timeline.
